SHUT UP & GET IT DONE! November 3, 2010
I SERIOUSLY don’t need to hear one more pastor/church planter tell me that they can’t do what God has called them to do because they don’t have…FILL IN THE BLANK.
PLEASE!!! SHUT UP and GET IT DONE!!!
Your Church Is NOT Limited…
Church planter, pastor…STOP poor mouthing your church and telling me about all of the things you don’t have. (Please understand that NewSpring started in a living room, with NOTHING!!!)
- “We don’t have lights”
- “We don’t have staff”
- “We don’t have a sound system”
- “We don’t have a permanent facility”
AND…I’ll tell you what else you don’t have if you are always poor mouthing…
- You don’t have a vision to do great things
- You don’t have faith to accomplish that vision
- You don’t have a view of God where He is high and lifted up, one where He REIGNS over circumstances and isn’t controlled by them.
- You don’t have a Matthew 16:18 view of HIS church!
Go back to Acts 1…what did they have? Seriously?
No sound system
No permanent facilities
No strategic growth plan
BUT…they had seen a dead man come back to life!!!
They had spent three years with Him
They had a CLEAR vision from Jesus
They had a desire to deal with the leadership challenge
They were prepared for His moving…
AND HE SHOWED UP among 120 people and did something SO powerful that we still talk about it today.
I am so glad they did not poor mouth God and tell Him about all they could not do because they simply lacked the resources.
We have THE SAME THING THEY HAD….I WOULD ARGUE MORE!
(Can you imagine how quickly they could have impacted the world with what we have today?)
If God has told you to take a next step…then HE HAS PREPARED the way!
STOP poor mouthing the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE and insulting the Almighty with excuses that are merely a result of your lack of faith!
Life is too short and hell is too hot for us to play around!
GET IT DONE!
Dear NewSpring Church November 2, 2010
So…as of yesterday’s post I will be doing a weekly letter to NewSpring Church every Tuesday…here’s the first one, really excited about it…
Hey NewSpring Church – Found People Find People! (See John 1:35-51 for two back to back stories illustrating this point.)
And I want to thank all of you because you get this! We asked you guys to invite people to this marriages series and you have responded in an overwhelming fashion as we have seen an enormous amount of first time visitors on every campus.
And…to say that God is working in lives in and through this series would be an understatement!
- We’ve met couples who have agreed to fight FOR their marriage instead of in it.
- We’re hearing about couples praying with and for one another for the first time.
- We’ve literally seen couples STOP the divorce proceedings they were in and have began attending church together.
- We’ve seen couples that desperately needed help in their marriage but were always too afraid to ask drop their pride and confess they have “issues’ in their marriage.
I could go on and on…but there is one thing I don’t want us to overlook. I told our entire church back in August that while this was packaged as a marriage series that it was actually going to be a GOSPEL series…because EVERYTHING we do as a church always points back to Jesus! Saying that…we’ve seen around 250 people surrender their lives to Christ in the first three weeks alone (and we have four more to go!!!)
Jesus is changing lives…and so for those who have been bringing people (and serving every week)…THANK YOU…your willingness to do what God has put in your heart to do IS making a difference.
Before I close…a few prayer requests in regards to our church…
#1 – Pray for our services THIS SUNDAY as I honestly believe we could see HUNDREDS of people receive Christ. This Sunday’s message is one of the messages that I’ve been MOST looking forward to.
#2 – Pray for who YOU need to invite to church this Sunday. Seriously…and if God puts someone on your heart then do whatever it takes to get them to church! AND…remember…satan isn’t going to place someone on your heart, I promise…so as you pray and seek HIS face and HE puts a name on your heart…pursue them like Jesus pursued you!!! (And if you are tempted to dismiss what God wants you to do–see James 4:17.)
#3 – Pray for launching of our Charleston campus that will officially launch on January 9th.
#4 – Pray for me as I will be speaking and Clemson University’s FCA this Thursday night at 9:19pm (I am usually in bed by this time!)
AND…don’t forget the homework Clayton assigned on Sunday…to read through Proverbs 31:10-31 and ask Jesus what is the ONE THING I can do to prepare to be a great spouse (OR what is the one thing I can do right now to BE a better spouse.)
Love you NewSpring…the best is yet to come.
Upcoming Changes At PerryNoble.com November 1, 2010
I’ve been blogging now for about five years…and it’s been a pretty amazing journey! (It all began with this post on May 26, 2005)
BUT…it’s time for a change.
I’m not going to quit blogging altogether (although I did consider it)…but after thinking and praying through it (for about three or four months) So…here are a few thoughts on the changes that I will be making and the “why” behind these changes…
#1 – I will be posting three times a week, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday will be a letter to NewSpring Church recapping the weekend and casting vision for what is coming. Wednesday will be an article on leadership and Thursday will be whatever I feel like writing about.
There will be no more “Sunday Night Reflections” as I am realizing I really WANT and NEED to spend Sunday nights with my family relaxing and resting instead of in front of a computer screen!
AND…there may be other posts as we promo conferences, coaching networks, prayer requests AND I may take a shot at doing some video blogs in the future…but I am only going to commit to three written articles during the week.
#2 – One of the reasons for this is because I REALLY want to invest some time in being LASER focused on some things that we’re going to be doing at NewSpring Church in 2011…like I said yesterday on this site I think 2011 is going to be THE most fruitful year of ministry we’ve EVER had…the launching of Charleston (AND…possibly another campus…more on that later) and some new things we’re going to be initiating, well, the possibilities are endless.
#3 – My goal is to have my book completed in 2011. I have an agent…I have an outline…I have the concepts done, I just need the time to write it. AND…I am going to do what it takes to have it done next year…in order to do that I have to find time and one of the things I am going to have to do less of is invest time on this site because I know that God is telling me to get this book written.
So…there it is, a personal update…so thankful that all of you stop by here from time to time to read, hope you will pray for me as I try to budget time to get this book done and get these new initiatives done…totally excited about it!!!
These changes will begin next week (starting with no Sunday Night Reflections.)
