Sunday Night Reflections April 4, 2010
What a weekend…
- We saw around 200 people surrender their lives to Christ…that NEVER gets old!
- Had over 16,400 attend NewSpring this weekend…fyi that is MORE than attended the 10 year anniversary service @ the BILO Center!
- THANK YOU to everyone who stepped up this week and invited people to church…seriously, you guys went ALL OUT and God’s Kingdom was enlarged this weekend because of it…now…
- Be sure to invite them BACK for NEXT SUNDAY’S services!!! :-) (Seriously…don’t let Christmas be the next time you talk to them about coming to church!)
- AND…for those who invited and the person you brought did not receive Christ–read and memorize Galatians 6:9…and don’t give up!
- This was my favorite Easter weekend at NewSpring EVER!
- Jesus paid an UNBELIEVABLE PRICE to send and UNDENIABLE message!
- The cross is the exclamation point at the end of a sentence where God is screaming, “I love you, have a plan for your life and will do whatever it takes to get your attention!”
- I loved preaching on the cross…but I literally became overwhelmed several times this past week while preparing…really examining what Jesus went through so that we could be reconciled to God is a MAJOR eye opener!
- Jesus didn’t die on a cross so that we could have nice jewelry…but rather so that we could be made right with God.
- The tomb IS empty…Jesus IS alive…we CAN be made right with God–and THAT message taught by unschooled, ordinary men (Acts 4:13) turned the world upside down!!!
- I loved focusing today not just on WHAT the Easter message is all about…but WHY it matters!
- Yes, I was serious about HATING peeps!!! No lie…just seeing them brings out a rage in me that is unexplainable!
- Yes, the story about Charisse explaining the digestive process and using the word “rectum” was true!
- Yes, the HORRIBLE story of me saying the incredible insensitive thing to Lucretia about the ice cream is also true…definitely not my proudest moment as a husband!
- I’m REALLY excited about celebrating 10 years of marriage THIS THURSDAY…still can’t believe she married me!!! WOW!
- Next week we continue the series we began today by examining I John 5:13 and answering the question, “How Can I Really Know That I Have Eternal Life?”
Hey NewSpring Church…haven’t said this in a while…but wanted you to know that I absolutely LOVE serving as your pastor! I still remember our first Easter services we had…there were around 150 people in a room singing and celebrating, and NO ONE in that room had any idea that 10 years later we would see what we saw today! He is a God who has WAY more in mind than we do…and if THIS was Easter in 2010…what will Easter in 2020 look like?
We’ve seen Him do SO much…but there are SO MANY MORE people in our communities that need Christ…and while we will always celebrate what God has done will not stop seeking Him in regards to what else He wants to do. He’s not through…He’s just getting things started…and I can’t WAIT to see what happens next!
