I Want Her To Get It Right! January 26, 2009
Another God lesson He’s teaching me through my daughter…
I REALLY do want her to get answers right. When I ask her what a letter is…or what color something is…I DESPERATELY want her to say the right thing.
There isn’t a single parent on the planet who delights in seeing their child fail. (OK…maybe there are some…but they suck!)
AND…when she’s getting dangerously close to getting into trouble, causing Lucretia and I to have to discipline her…I try my best to guide her away from the object that she wants to play with…but in doing so will cause her some serious uncomfortability.
I don’t want her to mess up! I want for her to succeed in life. I, as her father, always try to place her in a position where I know that she will get it right…
And God does the same for His children.
One of the misconcpetions we must get past is that God WANTS us to mess up. That He wants us to be miserable. That He wants to see us destroy our lives.
NOT TRUE! I know this because…as I look back over my life I can honestly say that my biggest mistakes have came as a result of me NOT listening to/following Him.
My heavenly Father, who is perfect, wants me to get it right in life…and He wants the same for you as well. He promises us in Jeremiah 29:13 that if we seek Him with all our hearts we will find Him. In my own life I have often found that is ISN’T the fact that He’s silent…but rather that at times I’m not listening (or even trying to ignore Him.)
Just something He’s teaching me…
