Sunday Night Reflections October 26, 2008

A few thoughts on the day at NewSpring…

• Today we dealt with the issue of a womans character using Proverbs 31:10 as a launching place…and it was VERY tense at certain points in the message.
• As I said today…one of the biggest barriers that a woman may have to deal with in regards to others seeing the beauty in her is her own unwillingness to confront the character issues that she has.
• YES, I did say that the first thing a single Christian guy needs to do is GROW A SET!  There are WAY TOO MANY “Christian eunuchs” walking around in our churches today!
• It BOTHERS me when a single Christian guy cries and complains about not having a lady in his life…but he refuses to ask her out.  BE A MAN!  (If you are waiting on her to ask you out…you are pathetic!)
• Oh yeah…asking her out means you TALK TO HER, face to face, don’t text her or email her…and if she tells you no then you know!
• Tony has a list of “Perryisms” here…I read it every week just to try and remember some of the stuff I said!
• I know I talked about Lucretia a lot in the message today…but I could not help it…she is SERIOUSLY the godliest woman that I know…and definitely makes Proverbs 31:10 comes to life!
• I love the fact that when there is an issue in our marriage that she will talk to me and not about me.
• NEXT SUNDAY AT NEWSPRING IS GOING TO BE THE BOMB!!!  Seriously, our special guest for the day will be Shaunti Feldhahn, the author of, “For Women Only.”  (An EXCELLENT READ!!!)
• Ladies…next Sunday is THE PERFECT SUNDAY to get someone to come to church with you…trust me!
• And men, BELIEVE ME when I say you are going to want to hear what Shaunti has to say to women.  SERIOUSLY; in fact, you need to bring your buddies with you to this one!!!  Guys, you’ve GOT to trust me on this…I would NOT lead you astray!
• I cannot believe I am getting on a plane tomorrow and heading to Hillsong Church in Australia…this is seriously a dream come true.
• NewSpring Church, please pray for me as I will be speaking at their men’s conference and their church services on Sunday morning.
• Also, please pray that God will stretch me while I am on this trip, that I will be open to all that He wants to teach me.
• And then that evening I am going to have the privilege of attending their 25th anniversary services…amazing.
• I know you all mean well…BUT PLEASE STOP TELLING ME ABOUT THE JET LAG!!!  I DO NOT CARE!  :-)
• We are in the process of planning Christmas services already…DANG, I’m excited!

That’s it…gotta go to bed…and get up and spend countless hours on a plane!!!
