I Can’t Believe This…

I talked about this yesterday in church…but I wanted to share it with blog world as well…

About two or three years ago I had a conversation with ‘Cretia and told her that there were basically four churches/conferences that if they ever called and asked me to speak that I would reschedule a kidney operation to do so because of how much these ministries had meant to me.

(BTW…one of those was C3 this past year…I still can’t believe I was able to minister there.)

Out of all of the places the one place that I thought was completely out of reach was Hillsong Church in Australia. (Lucretia and I have always wanted to go to Australia!) I have always admired pastor Brian Houston and the incredible ministry that God has given him there in the land down under.  The influence that Hillsong is having is absolutely amazing.

So…back in May I received an email from Hillsong Church asking me if I would be interested in speaking at their mens conference in October and then staying over and speaking on a Sunday to their church.

I was angry!!!  Seriously, I thought a staff member was messing with me and this was a HUGE joke.  There was no way they were asking me…have they even heard of Anderson, SC?  (We do have a large jockey lot!)

BUT, after contacting them back I found out it was legit…and I am completely honored, humbled, blown away and excited.  I can’t believe God has given me this opportunity.  To go and speak to a church that has had a profound influence on me and the ministry here at NewSpring is beyond anything I ever thought I would ever get to do.

(By the way…I already have PLENTY of people volunteering to “suffer for the Lord” and accompany me on this trip!)  :-)

SO, if you are in Australia…I am heading that way to speak at this conference in October.  I’m looking forward to being with you guys.  Pastor Brian, thank you for this tremendous opportunity…and thanks for all that you do for God’s Kingdom–heaven is going to be MORE crowded because of what God has done through you!!!
