Sunday Night Reflections March 2, 2008

What a day…here are a few thoughts…

• “Stuck” has been my favorite series to teach through…I honestly believe God was seriously messing with some people today.
• Sometimes I have to pinch myself…folks, you have NO IDEA how much I love our church, Anderson, Greenville…and the vision that God has given us.  Our best days are yet to come!
• I thought the music today was INCREDIBLE!  The rearrangement that our band did to “Bring me to life” was absolutely amazing.
• Lee’s CD release concert is Friday night…I can’t wait!  You can get a ticket here…and you seriously need to be there.
• This was an awesome weekend.  I was able to spend LOTS of time with Lucretia and Charisse…AND, Charisse smiled A LOT this weekend, which made me REALLY happy.  There isn’t a father in the world who doesn’t want to see his child smile.
• If that is true of me…and I am an imperfect father…how much more true is that of our heavenly Father.
• God created us with a purpose…and my prayer has been through this series that people would step up and embrace the life that God has for them.
• Let me say it again…if you are a child of the King then you do not have to settle for scraps!
• The fourth service is really gaining some steam…we usually do a few extra songs in that service and it is definitely full of energy.
• Next week we begin a new series entitled “Three.”  Uh…seriously, Sunday is going to ROCK…and if you tend to get “emotional” from time to time you might want to bring a Kleenex…OR just be prepared to wipe your snot on the sleeve of the person next to you!
• On Easter we are beginning a new series entitled, “Sex, Money & Power – The MAN Series.”  It is a series completely designed for men…and the women who love them…or want to love one…or, uh…want to be loved by one.  OK, you get the picture.
• We are doing FREE tickets for Easter…you can get them here.  Why are we doing this?  Because we want to ensure that EVERYONE who comes to NewSpring for this series has a seat AND an awesome experience.  This will help us to plan properly and make sure that we can accommodate as many people as possible.
• TIME CHANGE NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT…it’s the one where we LOSE an hour–AHHHH!
• Unleash is approaching FAST and we have LESS than 200 spots available!  Seriously, if you haven’t signed up yet you might want to GET ON IT…RIGHT NOW!  :-)
• The Lord has been dealing with me about something HUGE…I love pouring into pastors and church leaders…BUT…the crew I need to do most of my investing in is the staff that I serve with.  So…
• I am going to begin mentoring several people on staff…not sure who yet…but, if you are a staff member and want to go through about a six week mentoring process with me…AND you will be extremely dedicated to it…then e-mail Trish BEFORE noon on Monday and tell her three reasons why you believe that you should be in this group.
• This should be fun…and maybe humbling!  I may discover that no one on staff actually reads my blog!  :-)
• Please pray for me…I seriously feel like I am getting sick.  My throat hurts and my body feels like I’ve been ran over by a freight train!
• Tony told a story tonight that cracked me up…he said that when he was in middle school he played basketball and during one particular game fouled a guy really hard, thus clearing both benches AND the stands.  After that story I am even more proud to have him on staff.
