Sunday Night Reflections
A little late for a Sunday night post–but here goes…
- God is doing something unique at our church right now. Honestly, I am feeling like a kid on the night before Christmas in regards to our Christmas services and 2008! I’ve never been as excited about our future as I am right now.
- There are still some seats left for the 6:45 service on Sunday and the 2:00 and 4:00 services on Monday. I know I’ve said it before, and I will say it again…this is an outstanding opportunity to invite your family and friends who do not ordinarily go to church…I promise they will hear the Gospel in a unique way!
- By the way–BE EARLY NEXT SUNDAY/MONDAY!!! Because…we are expecting a record number of people AND, trust me, you do NOT want to miss the beginning of this service!!!
- I heard the phrase today, “If there is no fear in your life then you are not attempting anything great.” WOW! I never want to get to the place where all I desire is comfort and safety–that being said…I am REALLY pumped about our Greenville campus!
- It’s cold–NOW it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Seriously, it was getting tough to get in the Christmas spirit with it being 70 degrees outside.
- Lucretia has been pretty sick this past week with a head cold–please keep her in your prayers. I hate it when she is sick!
- Due to the fact that she has been sick–I agreed to give Charisse her bath on Friday night. (’Cretia and I usually tag team this deal.) When it was all said and done I think she almost got as wet as I did!
- Yesterday I played in the floor with Charisse for about an hour…and then last night ‘Cretia and I cuddled on the couch and watched a movie…I am SO blessed to have those ladies in my life.
- God is teaching me so much about His love through allowing me to be a dad. I am BLOWN AWAY by the fact that He loves me–even when I mess up. (I had this thought yesterday after Charisse had blessed me with some projectile vomit & I didn’t stop loving her because of it!) Yep, God loves us–even in our messiness!
- It isn’t even 2008 yet and I am already ready for this flippin’ presidential race to be OVER!
- Please don’t get mad at me–but STOP sending me e-mails that tell me you have heard from a “very reliable source” that Starbucks is coming to Anderson. I have been hearing this as well–FOR THREE YEARS. I will believe it when I actually walk out of that establishment with my non-fat iced vanilla latte!
- On Wednesday I did an interval workout on my treadmill at home that I haven’t done in several months–and my legs have hated me ever since!
- This past Tuesday was AMAZING. I had the privilege to participate in one of our Gametime initiatives. We went to a local elementary school (that has a 91% poverty rating) and gave away over 300 pairs of shoes and jackets! Thanks to all who are participating in Gametime…it definitely made a difference in hundreds of kids lives this past week. Be sure to check out the video in our services on the 30th of this month.
That’s about it–good night!
