My Bible Journey

Finished Jeremiah…here are a few thoughts from Lamentations and Ezekiel…

  • Lamentations 2:17 - Sometimes I forget just how IN CONTROL God is!!!
  • Lamentations 3:21-27 - When the wheels seem to be coming off…these verses are good to have nearby.
  • Lamentations 3:40 - I need to do this often!
  • Ezekiel 2:1-2 - I now read this on Sundays before I speak!
  • Ezekiel 2:5-7 - God was/is pretty serious about not being afraid to speak His truth!
  • Ezekiel 3:16-21 - These verses caused me to stop dead in my tracks…wow…once again it is evident that God is SERIOUS when He tells someone to speak His truth.
  • Ezekiel 18:4 - No explanation needed!
  • Ezekiel 18:32 - God wants us to live & not die as a result of our foolish and immoral choices.
  • Ezekiel 20:19-20 - I cannot go wrong by doing this!
  • Ezekiel 20:49 - Looks like there were bloggers who hated Ezekiel because they felt like he just wasn’t “deep” because of all his storytelling!
  • Ezekiel 22:30 - This verse has always moved me…I think God is still looking for men who will stand up and be men!!!
  • Ezekiel 24:15-18 - When I read this I thought about how much I love Lucretia and how hard this had to have been for Ezekiel…no one ever said that obedience is an easy thing.
  • Ezekiel 30:24-25 - How in the world can God’s Sovereignty ever been in question? Holy cow–He used a pagan king to accomplish HIS purpose!!! BUT…I say this and usually turn around and freak out when something “uncontrollable” happens…thus doubting God’s Sovereignty!
  • Ezekiel 33:30-33 - This isn’t a pastor in the world that hasn’t felt like this at one time or another!!! DANG!

The three others things I have seen consistently in this book is…

  • God hates pride!
  • Ezekiel always knew what to say because God spoke to him. (Go through and notice the times he says, “The word of the Lord came to me…”
  • Eventually the entire world will know that the Lord is God–I am glad I get to participate in spreading that message!
