Sunday Night Reflections July 1, 2007
Here are a few things running through my mind tonight…
- I hate that I miss the concert…I heard it was AWESOME…BUT, I had a choice to make–go to the concert or stay at the hospital with Lucretia and Charisse…my girls won, hands down! I pray that is always the case!
- Speaking of the concert–we were able to raise right at $25,000 for local charity. SO…later on this week NewSpring will cut a check to Anderson Interfaith Ministries and the Crisis Pregnancy center for $12,500 a piece.
- This is only the beginning of some of the stuff we are getting ready to do in our community–God is opening some incredible opportunities for local missions!!!
- My little girl keeps taking a pee on me when I change her diaper! AND…she usually waits until I just about have the new diaper on her. It makes me smile! :-)
- Shane Duffey, our creative arts pastor, told me that the coolest thing that I said today was, “Jesus has a pet snake…his name is satan.”
- Speaking on spiritual warfare is ALWAYS a challenge…BUT…I loved tackling the issue.
- Too many people think that when it comes to spiritual warfare that Jesus and satan are equals…keep in mind, Jesus created Him and will one day destroy him!
- Every once in a while I literally say out loud, “Hey satan, go to hell!” It makes me feel good AND is a grounded theological way to cuss!!! :-)
- Lucretia is an incredible mother!!! WOW…she amazes me!
- The band did a song today entitled “Hosanna,” afterwards I could have just concluded the service–it was a powerful moment!
- There is something incredibly powerful that happens when God’s people come together and worship Him! I can’t explain it!!!
- YES, what I said in the message today is true…I feel completely overwhelmed and under qualified to do what I do…but that is a good thing because it keeps me desperate for Jesus!
- NewSpring–hold on!!! What we’ve got heading our way in August is going to be one of the most powerful things that has ever happened in the history of the Upstate–trust me, it’s huge. More details forthcoming.
- BED TIME!!! (At least until I have to get up and get tee-tee’d on again by my daughter!) :-)
