Weekend Highlights April 8, 2007

I have to say straight up that I am tired…and so my mind is NOT working at all right now…here are some thoughts from the weekend…and this will probably be REALLY random! (Imagine that!)

• We had 10,707 people show up at NewSpring for our Easter services!
• The Lord has surrounded me with an incredible team of people who love Jesus…love people…and love seeing people connected to Jesus! To all of our staff and volunteers–THANK YOU for making today happen…what in the world are our Christmas services going to look like! :-)
• Thank you to everyone who invited someone to our services this weekend…make sure to get them back next week–our services will be at our normal times–but that is the only thing that will be “normal” about them.  :-)
• I love our church…I love the fact that people are excited about inviting people.  I will make you a promise right now–we will continue to present Jesus in a way people can understand…and you keep getting them to church!
• DO NOT MISS OUR SERVICE ON MAY 6th!!! 
• Tony had an excellent post here!
• I am so amazed at what God is doing at NewSpring…and this morning he laid something on my heart to pray for that…well…I am not going to share it just yet. I will say this–there isn’t a church in America doing it yet…and it stretched me in a HUGE WAY!
• Today (Sunday) Lucretia and I have been married for seven years! DANG–I love my wife. :-)
• Tonight we went to Outback for some dead cow and a chocolate thunder from down under–WOW! I don’t know about you–but I just think Outback is going to be in heaven…and the food will have no calories!
• ‘Cretia got me an Easter basket today–she has every year since we’ve been married, and next year she has to get one for me and then one for Charisse…and since Charisse won’t be old enough to eat candy yet–I will be a good daddy and eat it for her.
• ‘Cretia told me that we had a giant turkey in our yard yesterday…and this morning he paid us a visit again. HE IS HUGE…I named him Herman…hopefully there will be pictures soon!
• I did watch golf today and made an amazing discovery…if you ever can’t go to sleep just turn on golf–it will knock you out!
• If you are stressed, worried or freaking out about anything then keep this in mind–THE TOMB IS EMPTY, JESUS IS ALIVE…if God can bring the dead back to life then He can handle your problem. The thing that is freaking you out hasn’t freaked Him out at all!
