Random Thanksgiving Thoughts November 22, 2006
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Lucretia has the house ready to go for tomorrow…the food is in the fridge and even more food will be brought by friends. I will continue my undefeated streak against my buddy Joe in PSII college football…I typically beat him like a drum!!!
HOLY COW–our creativity meeting yesterday in preparation for December 10th was one of the single most awesome things I have ever experienced in my life. I am going to be doing an entire separate post about it next week…all I can say is that you have GOT to be here on December 10th…Chelsea Stewart, daughter of the late Payne Stewart, will be on stage & talking about what the Lord has taught her through the experience of losing her father in a plane crash in 1999. This will be one of THE most moving worship experiences you have ever been in…I promise!
The Clemson/Carolina game is this Saturday! I can’t wait!!! YES…I will be there!!! I will have on orange so I should be easy to find. Pray for me if you think about it…I am speaking to the team at their chapel service on Friday evening. (When I say “the team” I am referring to Clemson!!!)
Prediction on the game…Clemson wins, of course. :-) I have had people asking me, “What if you guys lose this year?” My reply has been, “I don’t know how that feels…it’s been so long since we lost to you guys…so if we lose I guess I will just have to deal with some new emotions!” GO TIGERS!!!
Todd had this post on his blog today…HOLY COW!!! Pastors…this read reminded me of how high the stakes really are…and how we need to put boundaries in place to guard ourselves…how we need accountability and people in our lives we can be open with. It challenged me…I prayed this morning in my time with the Lord about the fact that one of THE single greatest desires in my life is to finish well!!!
This coming Sunday we will wrap up the “Lord of the Rings” series with a message that will teach married couples how to eliminate 75% of their arguments!!! In doing this I understand that some couples may struggle to find new things to do in all of the spare time that will follow the application of this message…but trust me…it will be well worth it. I think the message for this Sunday has the potential to be the best message preached in this entire series!!!
That’s about it for now–I probably will not be doing much blogging until next week! Have an awesome Thanksgiving.
