Youth group was OFF the HOOK last night!!! The youth band did a back to school concert and there were around 270 high school students there. (Keep in mind there were 179 middle school students there this past Sunday night!)
I am serious–our middle school and high school students are crazy about Jesus…they are inviting their friends and being bold–it’s awesome! Seriously–this is the best youth group EVER!
Parents–we have leased the old Kay-Bee toys store in the mall and are working hard to make more room for them there…we are going to have THAT space PLUS the current space we are using at the Fusebox. This is going to be what we use until we can build them a facility on site–which we hope to break ground on in June or July.
They will meet for worship in the fusebox…and then the Kay-Bee store will be used for community groups and hang out space!
Everyone understand–I say this all the time…this church BELIEVES in teenagers and WILL spend money on them…we don’t have time to invest in pipe organs, stained glass windows, and choir robes! Our teenagers matter…and they will always have the best we can give them.
And I have GOT to mention this…
Gary called me out here in regards to Clemson and UGA…he’s upset because his beloved Bulldogs are not ranked…and he has challenged me to a friendly wager.
Gary–first of all–I have the best thing that has EVER came out of the state of Georgia…her name is Lucretia!!! So…I am not sure your state has anything that I want–except for the Braves to win another world series…which isn’t going to happen this year!
So here is my proposal…we are talking regular season here…IF Clemson has a better regular season winning record than UGA…then YOU have to put on a Clemson shirt–take a picture in it…and post it on your blog for a week!!! If UGA has a better record–then I will wear a UGA shirt, take my picture with it on…and post it on my blog for a week.
Bottom line is that you guys are just not going to be that good this year–but if you think you can hang with the boys from the upstate–the challenge is there!
